Would she give a partial refund and you keep the doll? I bought our Molly on ebay and they said she was just fine but her hair had been cut and she had a few marks that won't come off. Since we were sending Molly to the hospital for a new head I informed the ebayer the cost we were going to half to pay. She at least gave me a half refund on the total ebay cost. If you like the doll you might want to try just my opinion.

That was my first thought as the doll was listed as having a perfect body which would bring one price and it has a problem body which would bring a much lower price. The seller is not willing to part with any of the money even though her listing was wrong. These dolls go for around $40 to $70 if they have problems and from $70 to well over a hundred if they don't. She advertised him as having a good body with no problems, so her asking price of $139 was understandable. Unfortuntaely, he has many problems that can't be fixed except through a new body. I wrote and told her that nobody would have paid more than half the purchase price for a doll in this condition. She told me that she was selling it for a friend with Alzheimers and she didn't know it had problems even though she was the one that took the pics and wrote the listing. She gave me two choices. Either a refund or I could pay to ship him back and she could change his body. The likelyhood of her being able to match his head with another body is pretty slim in these dolls and frankly I am just so heartsick about the whole affair that now I just want this transaction to have never happened.

I think she has to pay for the shipping back to her the doll. She is the one who is wrong. The item is not like listed!
And she has to gave you refund before sending the doll back.
If the item was as listed but you don't want anymore is correct to pay shipping and wait for the money, but in this case you have right to ask for full refund and shipping cost to ship back to her.

I don't think it's fair that she is asking you to pay for shipping at all! In my opinion she should refund the complete purchase price including the shipping you paid for the doll to be shipped to you, and she should give you a little bit more to ship her back. She was the one who made a huge error in the listing and she needs to own up to that. If she is unwilling to at least refund the full purchase price including the original shipping charges, I would contact ebay and report the situation and get that process started. I hope this helps, I'm sorry about your situation. Good luck!

It sounds fishy to me. She's stating she doesn't know anything about these dolls, but yet can change out the body??? That statement doesn't make sense to me.

I would keep the doll and demand a full refund inlcuding shipping before sending back. Did you pay with Paypal? That may be a recourse....file a claim with them for a refund if she doesn't comply.

If by chance you decide to send the doll back before she refunds you, I would do the following --

Take clear photos of the doll with many angles --dressed and undressed

Take the doll to a third party (a doll hospital or shop) for a professional appraisal.

    Good luck

I would say that probably 99% of the sellers on Ebay would require you to return the item before issuing a refund. No store would give you a refund without the item back first, so why would a seller on Ebay do it?

If you file a Significantly Not As Described complaint with Paypal, they will also make you return the doll to the seller before issuing you a refund.

That said, I can totally understand your frustration in getting something that was not as it was advertised. I would just chalk it up to a lesson learned. (Been there myself!)

MaryCarly if you do return the doll IMO I would make sure there was proof you sent it and a signature proof of when she receives it. This is one of the reasons I don't really care to deal with ebay anymore. I hope everything turns out good for you, it's not fair when stuff like this happens.

I purchased a My Twinn doll from ebay that was listed as perfect shape and arrived in way less than perfect shape. I paid a very high price for this doll and the seller now tells me that she was selling it for someone else and just assumed it was in good shape. She has offered to refund the purchase price, but not the shipping charge. She also refuses to send any refund until the doll is sent back. I am already out a lot of money due to her fraudulent listing. I offered to pay the shipping on the return of the doll, but I don't feel inclinded to send back the doll and pay more shipping until I receive a refund for what I already sent. I sent her the original money before she shipped the doll and I am asking for the same courtesy in return. After her lies on the listing, I am very hesitant to let the doll go until I have the refund. At this point, he is my only proof of her lies and her lies don't encourage me to trust her. Am I wrong? Should I mail the doll back before she refunds the money? Should I be expected to eat almost $20 in shipping and handling charges for a doll that is not like what was on the listing? Where do I go from here? Advice Please!
